Past Projects

Eight Week Mindfulness Group Efficacy: Poster Presentation at the 2011 International Association of Contextual Behavioural Science Conference, Parma, Italy: We presented research at the International ACT and RFT (Relational Frame Theory) Conference in Parma, Italy. Our findings concluded that following participation in the group, a statistically significant increase was found in all participants’ levels of Acceptance. Additionally participants reported higher levels of Valued Living. Qualitative interviews with participants resulted in some really interesting findings around the benefits of the 8 Week group in terms of getting people in touch with their values, and recognising when they were getting fused with unhelpful thoughts and emotions. Additionally, the study highlighted necessary elements for ACT groups, which is crucial for future ACT service provision.
